Tree House Eureka Mosaic

I’ll start this review by taking one more chance to plug my recent profile of Tree House Brewing Company on The Full Pint. Thanks to everyone who read the profile, shared it on social media and passed along positive comments, it was appreciated. I’ll even take the time to thank the few people who wrote negative things, any publicity is good publicity and I know most of you were just trying to troll the haze bros. Anyways, as part of the “research” for the article I made a trip out to Tree House, took some pictures and bought a bunch of beers, including favorites like Julius, Green and Haze. They had 14 beers available that day, and even with all of the amazing IPAs the beer I went home with the most of was a blonde ale. In fairness, with it’s pungent hop aroma and big flavors Eureka is hardly a typical blonde ale. My wife’s favorite beers are big on hops and low in ABV, so a hoppy blonde that barely cracks 4% is right up her alley, and she has thoroughly enjoyed my stockpile of the Mosaic variety of Eureka. I was fortunately able to snag a can for myself to write a review. Tree House Eureka is available on a rotating basis in 16 oz cans and on draft at the brewery, they make a few different versions of the beer that each showcase a different varietal of hops.

Tree House Eureka MosaicTree House Eureka Mosaic pours hazy light orange with a solid white head. The aroma is a big burst of fruity hops, lots of the tropical fruit Mosaic hops are known for. The flavor is also very hop forward, notes of guava, papaya and peach along with just a touch of bitterness in the finish. This is balanced by a mild malt backbone, hints of cereal and white bread. Eureka Mosaic is light and crushable at 4.1% ABV. The finish is crisp and clean with just a little lingering hop flavor that keeps you coming back for more. This is everything I (and more importantly my wife) look for in a session beer, big flavors but sill well balanced and not one-note. Another great beer in the Tree House lineup. Hoppy Boston score: 4.5/5.
